Corus has returned its first profit since its formation in 1999. Corus is optimistic that market conditions remain strong enough to support further price increases on both long and short-term contracts.
The organisation showed an operating profit of £147 million in the first half of 2004, compared to a loss of £57 million in the first half of 2003. Net profit for the year was £100 million compared to a loss of £125 million in 2003. Turnover was up to £4.47 billion versus £4.02 last year. |
