Corus Annouces First Profit
Corus has returned its first profit since its formation in 1999. Corus is optimistic that market conditions remain strong enough to support further price increases on both long and short-term contracts.
The organisation showed an operating profit of £147 million in the first half of 2004, compared to a loss of £57 million in the first half of 2003. Net profit for the year was £100 million compared to a loss of £125 million in 2003. Turnover was up to £4.47 billion versus £4.02 last year.
